Jesus said in John 15:16, You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. (This is my command: Love each other. V.17)
Our global team of leaders are seeing children bear fruit as they are taught how to pray and grow into a lifestyle of prayer. Most children are scared to pray or feel intimidated to pray—like many adults. But when you equip them to pray, the incense of their prayers rises to the throne room of God and He answers and they want to pray more.
See children are empowered when we connect them to the One who has all power.
Children are empowered when spending time in God’s presence.
Children are empowered when they experience answers to prayer.
Prayer
The prayer begins with grace: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me and making me one of your children. Help me love and obey you. Help me love others the way you love me. I am sorry for my sins wash me clean. I will praise you with my whole heart. Jesus, I want to follow you as my Lord. Change me any way you want. Fill me with your Holy Spirit. I want to know your plans for me. Use me for your glory and to invite others to follow you. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
Faith is the Power
Children have boundless faith—whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you are not mere words on a page.
The greatest faith-strengthening exercise is the power of answered prayer and so we pray,
When I receive testimonies from children around the world, I am always amazed by their courage and faith. It is beautiful. It is God-given and God-ordained. It says, “God is using children and youth to accomplish his eternal purposes.
Nurturing a child’s relationship with Jesus through prayer produces sticky faith—faith that lasts throughout their teen years, into early adulthood and beyond. We want children to commit to following Jesus together throughout their lives and be able to say like Paul, I’ve fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith…and confident in the knowledge that each one will be awarded a crown of righteousness from their Heavenly Father.
We want them to know that God’s will is the most beautiful and worthy thing they can pursue throughout their life confident that the One who began a good work within them will also be faithful to complete it.
