We have extraordinary leaders in SE Asia. Carol and Ricky Magno lead prayer for Campus Crusade for Christ for that region. I had the opportunity to meet her at a conference with ministry leaders from around the world. During a plenary session, she was seated in the row ahead of me and introduced herself during our 5’ break time. She asked what ministry I served with and began sharing about the Prayer Covenant for children. She shared that God has been burdening her heart with a much-needed focus on discipling children. She thanked me for the resources and said she would review them and pray about how God would want her to use them in their ministry.
One month later I heard from Carol. God had given her a plan to see leaders in ten nations in SE Asia disciple half a million children in Christ centered prayer using our resources. She is in the process of training teams of children’s leaders. She wants to see 1,000 leaders disciple 50 children through the prayer covenant curriculum but it doesn’t stop there. She wants to release the children to be witnesses – both praying and sharing their faith with five others.
We are in the process of translating our three major children’s resources – the large book, the comic book and the prayer card into the native languages of these countries. Her team ministers in the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Burma, East Timor to name a few. Imagine with me what God could do within those countries as children are discipled in prayer and evangelism and begin sharing Jesus with those in their homes and communities?
Children make the best message bearers. Parents see the change in their little ones as they follow Jesus and want to know what has brought the change about. They come with open hearts and minds and often receive the gospel.
We need to silence the enemy across our nation and the world. We need to equip children and youth to be strong in the Lord and in his power. To put on the full armor of God, so that they may be able to stand their ground and to Stand firm, with the belt of truth around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness, their feet fitted with the gospel of peace, and with the shield of faith to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And then it says to be alert and always be praying.
