My name is Raheela Aftab & I am a housewife. I have two children. My son is 13 years old and my daughter is 11 years old. Every day we pray as a family in the evening. But my son was always wanting to skip the prayer time. He preferred to play games on his mobile phone. I was worried about him because he did not listen to me. He was disobedient and was becoming very stubborn. He was like a lost sheep. He didn’t seem to care about any of his family.
The Prayers From a Wife and Mother
A Testimony About Prayer
I was praying regularly that God would change my son’s life. God answered my prayer. In November, I began seeing a big change in his life. He started to pray by himself but he also started joining our family’s prayer times. I talked with my son’s Sunday school teacher. She shared with me that they had started a new curriculum called, “The Prayer Covenant” in their Sunday school. The kids were learning the importance of praying and its impact on their lives. I am so happy. The amazing Prayer curriculum has changed my son’s life. I thank God for hearing and answering my prayers. Thank you Lord and thank you prayer covenant.
John Wesley said, “God does nothing but by prayer, and everything with it.” That is why it is so critically important to teach our children to pray. So many of us can relate to what this mom shared and the frustration she felt as she saw her son’s response to their evening prayer time. But she didn’t give up and as she cried out to God on her son’s behalf, He heard, and He answered. How marvelous we have His gracious invitation to boldly approach His throne of grace in our times of need.
Prayer
Let us pray. Father God, we pause now and lift up every child that might be struggling spiritually. I ask that you breathe on them that a spirit of prayer fall upon them. Show them your overwhelming love, your power and your authority. Father help them see you, the Mighty One who saves. The one who takes great delight in them and quiets them with your lavish love. Father we ask that you transform them by the power of your holy spirit. Restore to them the joy of their salvation. Meet their deepest need. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
