Believer Testimonies from South Asia
Our leaders shared, M is a boy from a family of non-believers. His father used to drink a lot and not go to work. Because of this he and M’s mom were always arguing. In 2018 they had separated. But in 2020 they reunited and began living together again. M’s Coach is now praying regularly for them. The Coach and his family are encouraged as they see M growing in the Lord every day. His prayer is that his parents too may find Jesus.
K has been serving with our leaders since 2018 and began serving children in their home fellowship. He started a Sunday School. He shared, “The Prayer Covenant resources have been an effective tool not only for teaching children to pray but helping them learn of God’s character in a systematic way. The curriculum is easy to use and the children are very responsive. The kids enjoyed it so much they were inviting their friends to come each week. This book is very interactive. Our Sunday school class has gone from 15 children to 32 children coming regularly to learn about God.”
Another church planter started a Sunday School program November of 2019. The children that came did not know how to write their own names. Many did not know how to read. But the beautiful illustrations of the Prayer Covenant book attracted the children and made them curious, wanting to know more about the stories inside. The pictures helped the children understand the stories. Parents were sharing how concerned they were that their children were unable to read so this church planter began a non-formal education center. This leader shared, “Their parents were so impressed as they saw their children being taught. Many of them started coming with their children to Sunday School to hear the stories as well.”
MK was born and raised in a Hindu family. Being Hindu they used to worship idols and believe in all kinds of rituals. His father often drank and beat his mother. But through their child’s Sunday School coach, they began to learn about Jesus–the one who gives living water. It was not long after that MK’s parents made decisions to follow Jesus Christ as Lord of their lives. The father stopped drinking. He shard, “My life has changed and for the first time I can experience true peace.”
In John 14:27 Jesus says, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” Amen.
