From South Asia, this pastor writes, “I have been serving as a pastor now for eight years. On one of my regular visits to one of the villages where I minister, I took time to visit a Sunday school class and asked the students if they wanted to pray for God’s blessings and love. No one responded. They all were shy and did not know how to pray. I realized that they needed some solid teaching & a prayer curriculum to help them. I contacted one of the children’s ministries I had heard about. They suggested we use The Prayer Covenant for Children and actually provided training in the curriculum. They gifted us with the teacher’s guide, student books and prayer cards. Two months later, I returned to that same Sunday School, and by the grace of God I witnessed a prayer revival in the lives of those children. They were now praying and growing in prayer.
Sunday School with The Prayer Covenant
Another child shared, my name is F, and I am 12 years old. Although I enjoyed attending Sunday school in my Church, I didn’t think it was important that I learn how to pray. I thought, “It’s fine as I have been born in a Christian family & I know about God through Bible stories & songs. But then In September 2020, I learned through a book called “The Prayer Covenant” that prayer is like a spiritual breath that we need every day. Our Sunday school teacher shared too that we should not only pray for ourselves but regularly for others. These words really touched me, and I asked my teacher to tell me more about prayer. She explained to me that Prayer is like communicating with God and we should daily pray to Him and ask for His blessings. I have started praying in our family prayer time. Thank you, Prayer Covenant.
Prayer is Life-Giving
Prayer is life-giving. It is why it is so important we are intentional about not only praying for our children but teaching our children to pray. Nurturing their relationship with Jesus Christ, empowering their prayers by teaching them the importance of praying Christ-centered prayers which daily disciple them and bring transformation. Prayer is power because we are connecting little ones to the One who has all power in heaven and on earth.
