On October 1st, a God-sized outreach began with The Prayer Covenant Africa in partnership with All Africa Baptist Youth Fellowship. There are close to 50,000 Baptist churches under the All Africa Baptist Fellowship umbrella. Together they are mobilizing one million youth and children to pray and share their faith with 45 persons over a 90-day period: the last quarter of 2020, meaning the months of October, November and December.
Intergenerational Outreach and Prayer
They understand the power of intergenerational outreach. They’ve seen what happens when young people are invited to participate in the Great Commission. They see the ways God is inspiring and igniting them to be on mission.
We are seeing first-hand high-level church leadership partnering with children and youth to be on mission, and we are seeing the fruit that comes from inviting children into the process of evangelizing and discipleship.
Gospel Tract Contest
I shared with you previously about the 5-day contest for kids to submit their gospel tract designs and stories. Close to 200 submissions came in that short period of time. They chose ten of those to print. The first printing run was 750,000 prayer covenant gospel tracts. One side was written the prayer covenant for children and the other had illustrations and a Bible story. They chose the story of the prodigal son, how he foolishly left all that was good and made poor choices but then how his loving father received him when he repented of his wrongdoing. They chose the story of Saul – who the spirit of God transformed into one of the greatest apostles, Paul. They choose the story of Samson and the result of his disobedience. I was so encouraged reading these stories and thrilled to see children rise to the challenge of helping create gospel tracts that they will be distributing virtually as well as one on one.
Prayer Request
Would you please remember to pray for this amazing outreach, that God will use it to expand his kingdom and that He will use it as a testimony of his greatness among the children and youth of Africa? I believe this will lay the foundation for future ministries to actively engage young people in living out the great commandment intergenerationally. If we invite our children into the process, they will rise to the challenge. And as they walk in the spirit and are led by His spirit they will bear eternal fruit. The truths of God’s word will take hold of their hearts and minds as they live out their faith.
