Igniting Prayer in the Family
We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people—the gospel is bearing fruit and growing throughout the whole world—just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and truly understood God’s grace. –Colossians 1:3-6
Our story today comes from Malawi, a small landlocked country of about 18,000,000 people in southeast Africa, near Tanzania.
Lloyd Lucius Dambula, the Pastor at St. John Baptist Church of Lilongwe and our National Leader for Prayer Covenant in Malawi, wrote:
“When we went to Mbeta village, a remote area about 60 kilometers from the capital town of Malawi to teach the Prayer Covenant with kids, the people warmly welcomed the Prayer Covenant teachings.
After introducing and encouraging the children and youth to enter into prayer partnerships, many chose their partners. Before we closed the training, we offered a chance for the kids to receive and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Many of them responded positively.
After one month, we went again for a follow-up program. We heard a testimony from David. He said he had chose his parents as his Prayer Covenant partners.
Our family never seemed to have time to pray together until I introduced them to the Prayer Covenant. My parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kwenda, were not dedicated Christians, but now they go to church every Sunday. This is a sure sign of spiritual transformation in our family due to the coming of Prayer Covenant ministry. The Prayer Covenant card has transformed my life and our family. Glory to the name of Jesus Christ!
We want to see the family prayer altar re-established within our homes across the globe, beginning here in N. America. The Prayer Covenant provides a simple prayer strategy that is easy to use and helps families pray together for one another. I’m not sure there is a more beautiful way to show your love for Jesus and for each other than through prayer.
PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for the gift of prayer and the power of prayer that is being experienced in families from the most remote villages to the biggest cities. We celebrate the fruit of the Prayer Covenant with the children and their parents of Mbeta village. We especially lift up David and his parents. Thank you that they have begun to pray together daily as well as attend church together. Establish them in their spiritual practices and help them grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. I pray for those in our listening audience, may they too be encouraged to grow in prayer for one another.
