Word of God guides our steps
Our story today comes from the Dominican Republic. It’s beautiful to hear from a child who was discipled with the prayer covenant several years ago and is faithfully serving Jesus today. He used this boy to lead his family to Jesus Christ. The Word of God guides and direct our steps. It is the foundation that sustains us.
My Name is Estela Gonzalez. I was only 11 years old when I was invited to participate in a prayer meeting called the prayer covenant for kids, I remember hearing the story of Abraham and the Promised Land, how he and his wife Sarah, left the land of his parents and went in search of a better land, when I heard the story, I was thinking in my parents, by then, none of my family had ever read the bible, not that I knew of.
As I listened to more stories of the prayer covenant, my interest in reading the bible grew, the teacher Mercedes gave each one of us a bible, I began to read it everywhere. I learned how to find the verses to memorize and I marked them in my bible, then I wrote them on sheets of paper, and I stuck them on the fridge, the walls, the doors, and in many other parts of the house, my parents learned it, my brothers and sisters also, they helped me by practicing and finally I learned them all. Then the whole family went to the Bible verse competition at church. We heard the pastor preach about God’s love and the Promised Land to Abraham. When he finished sharing, he called everyone who wanted to go to that Promised Land, and he said this, Jesus would lead us to that place if we ask Him to come and live into our hearts. my family and I did it altogether, we went forward and prayed that Jesus would be the Lord of our lives.
Today I am 14 years old and all my family and I are happy to be together, seeing how the Lord’s guidance is taking us to that wonderful Promise Land.

Heavenly Father, we thank you for Estela Gonzaelz’ family. Thank you that you are fulfilling your promise to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and the children to the fathers. Thank you for Estela’s love for your word and desire to know and follow you. Thank you for using him to invite his entire family to love you, know you and follow you. Continue to bless this family and use them for your glory. Raise up others like them to be salt and light in their communities. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
