Our Scripture for today is found in Matthew 28 verses 19 and 20. “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
The power of gospel
Today’s story is from Ghana, West Africa. Our leader there wrote, “The hunger for the gospel is a reality. Across Africa, lives are being transformed by the power of prayer and the power of the gospel. We celebrate the recent church plant in Ghana, led by our national leader, Rev. Richard Raymondo. He has been leading Prayer Covenant training sessions in order to share strategies for evangelism and discipleship among children, youth and adults. Some of the strategies include:
• Ministering directly to children in schools with the Prayer Covenant resources.
• Training of church leaders.
• Jesus Film presentations.
Rev. Richard has a passion for sharing the gospel—day and night, week in and week out. He is a gifted and committed leader for which we thank and praise God.
New Church Plant in Ghana
He wrote, “On the night of Saturday March 14, 2020, my co-worker brother Gabriel Magnon went to the village of Agodza in Volta Region for the purpose of sharing the gospel using the Jesus film. The villagers were very excited. About 45 children and adults gave their lives to Jesus.
Villagers made a request for a church where they could worship together. Up until now there had been no church in their village. With palm branches, a shed was quickly made in a portion of land that villagers donated for the church. Services began March 15, 2020. We praise God for those he brought together for this very first, historical service in Agodza.”
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the power of the gospel message. We thank you and praise you for our anointed leaders throughout Africa. Thank you for Pastor Raymondo and his team that faithfully proclaim the gospel day and night in the cities and villages of Ghana. May you guide their steps, provide for their every need, strengthen their frame as they proclaim your grace and goodness. May their fruit be abundant and multiply throughout their land. May you raise up children and youth that love you with all their heart and desire to serve you and follow you as Lord of their lives. We thank you for the church plant and pray that many more will raise up. Thank you for the power of partnerships and for the wonderful ministry of The Jesus Film. We pray you will continue to multiply its impact and receive the glory throughout Ghana and the entire world. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
