The Prayer Covenant for Children Mexico Launch!
Welcome to Teach us to Pray with The Prayer Covenant ministry. I’m your host Candy Marballi and I’m so happy you’ve joined us.
Our passage today is from Psalm 145. One of my favorite passages on intergenerational worship.
I will exalt you, my God the King;
I will praise your name forever and ever.
2 Every day I will praise you
and extol your name forever and ever.
3 Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise;
his greatness no one can fathom.
4 One generation commends your works to another;
they tell of your mighty acts.
5 They speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty—
and I will meditate on your wonderful works.
17 The LORD is righteous in all his ways
and faithful in all he does.
18 The LORD is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth.
19 He fulfills the desires of those who fear him;
he hears their cry and saves them.
21 My mouth will speak in praise of the LORD.
Let every creature praise his holy name
forever and ever.
Andres Castelazo is the senior pastor of a church in Chiapas Mexico. He is a second-generation pastor who has brought transformation to his country. He had a mega church from which he launched 350 new churches in order to be salt and light throughout Chiapas, an area that still suffers from religious persecution in some regions.
Andres is an advocate for children. His 14-year-old grandson began preaching when he was 4. In his congregation, children are not only objects of mission but partners in mission. They play musical instruments, teach, and pray. Their children’s prayer group is copying full books of the Bible into large hardback journals.
Strength in the gospel
In my short time there it was evident that Andres treasures God’s word, prayer, and children. At the close of each Sunday morning service, all of the children come from their Sunday School classes to recite Scripture that they memorized.
It was a profound privilege to launch the Prayer Covenant at his church. Two hundred and seventy-seven pastors and leaders from many major denominations were in attendance and committed to begin using the resources within their children’s ministries. These pastors are prayer warriors and many have children’s prayer ministries established, but with the Kids Prayer Covenant, they see a unifying force among denominations and an effective prayer strategy that transforms, disciples, and evangelizes.
Thanks for joining us. Until next time this is your host Candy Marballi with Teach Us to Pray.
Prayer
Father we thank you that you are near to all who call on you in truth. We thank you that you are fulfilling your promise to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and the children to the fathers. We thank you for leaders like Pastor Castelazo who see children as you see them. We ask for your continued hand of blessing upon these anointed leaders as they continue to minister to and serve with the children of Mexico. May a Spirit of prayer arise that quenches the fiery darts of the wicked one and births a generation of mighty warriors of the gospel. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
